Homecoming For Australian Troops
Introduction:
Hi! This is Ayaka and Shiho in Mr. Knapp's class, and we are going to introduce a video from CBS News about Homecoming For Australian troops.
Summary of Main Point:
Australia declared that the first major contingent of troops withdrew from Iraqi War. The contingent of troops went back to their own country within one week of the declaration. And they met a family and a lover again.
Why interested:
Japan dispatches the Self-Defense Force in Iraq, too. Therefore it is the problem that is familiar to us. Such news makes us happy. We hope that the Iraqi War will end and that all people go back to a family and a lover. We pray for world peace.

Hi Ayaka and Shiho,
Thank you for the interesting video about “Homecoming for Australian troop”.
One thing that I impressed me was people who are so happy they can meet family, boyfriends and girlfriends. I think this chance is very important and good for them.
My answer for your first question, I think this war is not good for people, because in this video there is nothing who felt sad when the contingent of troops came back. I feel it means no one want to go a battlefield or see off to these places. However it is sad thing that these people have to go and do the work for their countries.
My answer for your second question, frankly, I will feel I do not want to go to the war. It is because I think I can not prepare to work for my country and I am afraid a moment if I have to kill people. It is so heavy. In addition, I will worry about my family and friends when I go to war.
My question for you: Do you think is there war for peace?

I think the war is very terrible. The war just make a lot of sorrow and victim. And I think there are nobody who want to go the war. So, I want to disappear the war in the world and all over the world will be peace.

I think war is the thing which must not happen. But thought like that is too optimistic. In fact, war continue somewhere now. Though, I hope war disappear from this world.

Of corse, I think I don't want to go to a battlefield. But by case, for example other country attacked Japan, I would fight to protect this country.

I do not want to go to a battleground but I think I want to guard my important people from wars. So, in last, I go to a battleground. If that situation were happen, I certainly go back my country.

①What do you think about the war.…I oppose to any war. War causes massacre and destruction and more sad incidents for long times. For example, the atomic explosion that be thrown down on Hiroshima and Nagasaki cities caused unprecedented die and pollution of environment. Many people suffer from A-bomb disease.
②What do you think if you should go to the war?…I think I don’t go to the war.
I want to injure anyone. But if my families and friends are killed by enemies, I may want to revenge on them.
