Hi Everyone,
This is Natsumio and Hitomi from Mr. Pals class.
Summary:
This news is about position of child seat. Most people palce it left or right side of back seat in their car, but those position is dangerous. The safest position is the center of back seat.
Interest:
In Japan, we have been obliged to strap ourselves in even if we sit on the back seat since June 1st, so many of us wonder it. Seat belt is important for us to protect ourselves , but we should also think about child seat. Japanese government should prescribe some law for the safest position of child seat.
Question:
1.Do you agree with that people who sit on the back seat have to strap themseives in? Why or why not?
2.What will you do if someone refuse to use seat belt when you are driving?

Hi Natsumio and Hitomi,
You chose a very timely video for what is happening in Japan with the new law. In addition, you wrote two good discussion questions in your post.
The only problem with your post is that there is no title. Please go back and edit your post to add a title.
Mr. Pals
We added a title of our article.
DISCUSSION COMMENT #1 - This comment is from Hasegawa Takahiro from Mr. Pals' class.
Hi Natsumio and Hitomi,
Thank you for choosing the video,"Health Watch(about child seat)".
One thing I thought was surprised at the video was that parents should put child seat in the middle of back. From a car experiment, I knew that back middle position in the car were protected if car crashers happen.I thought child seats were put in the back of cars once. However, To watch the video I changed my thought of child seat.
I want to answer your first question. I think that people who sit in the back must fasten seat belts. The reason is that they are likely to be thrown out of the car when they they are in accidents.
To answer your second question is difficult. In my opinion, I will persuade them to to use seat belt bacause the best way to protect them from accidents is to fasten seatbelt. We don't enable ourselves to depend on airbag euqipments only to be injured in accidents.
My question for you is that: Has your parents asked you to fasten seatbelts when you get into your parents cars? Why? Why not?

DISCUSSION COMMENT #2 - This comment is from Yui Takeshima from Mr. Pals' class.
Hi Natsumio and Hitomi,
Thank you for the interesting video about the child seat.
One thing which impressed me is the fact that one children's hospital teaches parents how to properly install car seats. I think that it is important for the parents to understand the proper way to protect their child from accidents. Not only a hospital but also more facilities should practice the activity.
My answer to your first question is that I agree with the rule. There are many traffic accidents in Japan every year, and people who sit on the back seat get a big damage as well as people who is on the front seat. Therefor, the rule is good.
My answer to your second question is that I tell them to use a seat belt because there is no guarantee that an accident would never happen even if we go to the near place, and the seat belt protect us.
My question for you: Now, some people who sit on the back seat don't use a seat belt yet. What do you think the reason?
Yui
